{"id":32760,"date":"2021-12-09T10:31:46","date_gmt":"2021-12-09T13:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/domainebousquet.com\/?p=32760"},"modified":"2021-12-09T10:31:46","modified_gmt":"2021-12-09T13:31:46","slug":"wine-press-5-great-argentinian-malbec-wines-under-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/domainebousquet.com\/en\/wine-press-5-great-argentinian-malbec-wines-under-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Wine Press \u2013 5 great Argentinian Malbec wines under $10"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"byline\">\n<div>By\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.masslive.com\/staff\/kjr1969\/posts.html\" class=\"byline__authorLink\" title=\"Ken Ross | Special to The Republican\">Ken Ross | Special to The Republican<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__story \">\n<div class=\"entry-content \">\n<p id=\"HIJKPB6CTJHBNGLSK5JBGHPVHQ\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">There\u2019s something comforting about something familiar around the holidays.<\/p>\n<div id=\"inarticle-1\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"KUDCICJLTFCUXDA5EBTXKTDWOQ\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Maybe that\u2019s why so many of us (myself included) watch movies like \u201cA Christmas Story\u201d (best Christmas movie, period) or holiday specials like \u201cHow The Grinch Stole Christmas\u201d (all other adaptions pale in comparison to the 1966 television version) or \u201cRudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer\u201d (the classic stop-motion 1964 version narrated by Burl Ives) over and over, year after year.<\/p>\n<p id=\"Q7JZ4YSFDBEIVPOHS5U3J5V4CA\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">It\u2019s probably also the reason why many of us love eating the same beloved holiday meals on Christmas or New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7WTI2F2BLRA7XPJGU4NMF6SHU4\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">This isn\u2019t the time to experiment with liquid nitrogen desserts or deconstructed molecular gastronomy.<\/p>\n<p id=\"WGNHV2R5BBAMNJWVDFXZBO7CDA\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Most of us simply want a well-prepared roasted turkey, duck or ham the way our mother or grandmother used to make them years ago.<\/p>\n<p id=\"FM3CR7ETWZFTFJNF4FW7NIIE7M\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">The same is true when it comes to wine.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ZEFRHZ2F2ZC5BHXGRDGTTOZBGY\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Sure, it\u2019s fun tasting new and exciting wines throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p id=\"OOLMOBVAQZD3TIQKBUJGSRIC4M\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">But it\u2019s also great to return to the tried and true, the wines we love and cherish and enjoy sharing with family and friends, especially on a cold, winter night.<\/p>\n<p id=\"42REVJUP2JH6BMW6CYLRICMLFA\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Over the next few weeks, I\u2019ll be writing about many of these wines \u2013 as well as a few new ones \u2013 as part of my annual wines worth splurging on article, my annual Champagne\/sparkling wine column and my top 10 wines of the year under $10.<\/p>\n<p id=\"YKSKWGJEPVD3RJN5QO4QOTYXFY\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">This week, I wanted to turn my attention towards a familiar red wine grape from a familiar wine region \u2013 Malbec wines from Argentina\u2019s Mendoza region.<\/p>\n<p id=\"YMTPZVY36JH3HM5NCYNNHDKPLA\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">It\u2019s no secret that this part of northern Argentina near the foothills of the Andes Mountains makes some of the best, robust red wines in the world.<\/p>\n<p id=\"LVRRPU2HEFHJTIEL435QJD3EPY\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Malbec may have originated in southwest France, especially in the Cahors region. But mention Malbec nowadays and most people instantly think of Argentinian wine.<\/p>\n<p id=\"6JGH4ZUWLJCCHNAUORCYXVRLKA\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Some of the five, Argentinian Malbecs recommended this week you may have heard of before. Others might be new. Best of all, you can find most of these wines at a store near you.<\/p>\n<p id=\"CBF4MC2LZNDG3DNFC6QSKHVOAI\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Let me add that all of them cost less than $10 a bottle and are some of the best bargains out there. Honestly, I was blown away by how great all of them tasted side by side and how well they pair with different foods, from aged hard cheeses and smoked meats to steak and smoked salmon.<\/p>\n<p id=\"FZHNCM5KENDILLAG76GW3QUWSE\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Hope you enjoy.<\/p>\n<p id=\"PRN5MW26OFA23ISWD3A7UW3NBE\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\"><b>WINES RECOMMENDED THIS WEEK<\/b><\/p>\n<p id=\"VD2FXQP2BBGOTKRDLFRCBCZSDU\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\"><b>2019 Domaine Bousquet Malbec<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"InContent_Center_Background\">\n<div class=\"InContent_Center_Padding\">\n<div id=\"InContent_Center_VD2FXQP2BBGOTKRDLFRCBCZSDU\" class=\"ad-observer\">One of the best known wineries in Argentina, Domaine Bousquet consistently makes great, affordable wines using organic grapes. Last week, I raved about one of their box wines. This week, this wine has an intense, full-bodied finish with hints of black pepper and roasted blackberries.
