Maybe you have tried organic wine and didn’t have the experience you were hoping for. Well, there’s more to the story of making organic wine than you may be familiar with, namely, sustainability – for the environment, winemaking employees, and the economy.

At Domaine Bousquet, we know more than a few things about sustainable, organic winemaking. We produce high quality, organic wine that tastes great, and is great for our planet. Our winemaking process is all about doing the right thing – for the environment and our employees (while pleasing your palate and your pocket).

Who we are

Domaine Bousquet is a family-run winery located in Tupungato, a small, rural town outside of Mendoza, Argentina. Most of our employees are local residents of Tupungato. We are proud to support our local economy and to provide sustainable employment for our community.

Our company culture is based on good moral and ethical practices. We always opt to do right by the earth and our customers. Our winery produces some of the highest quality, organic, and vegan wine products on the market at reasonable prices. We believe that sustainably sourced organic wine should be available for everyone.

Our 360-degree sustainability approach

Our organic winemaking approach is geared toward producing high-quality products for consumers at reasonable prices. This sustainable approach is threefold: environmental, economic, and social.

Environmental sustainability

We are dedicated to farming organically while improving our land’s biodiversity. We believe that the healthier the vineyard, the better the fruit. The better the fruit, the better wine. The better the wine, the happier the people. In other words, by nourishing the land and treating it with respect, we know that the land will give us back its finest fruits.

Economic sustainability

Though growing fruit organically and reducing the carbon footprint is wonderful, our sustainability efforts are also economical. When we started, our land was located in a rural, remote area and had never been cultivated before. During the 2000s, we set up the infrastructure, planted the vineyards, and created the first winery in the area. This led to other wineries investing in the town and jump-starting a bustling industry.

Over the past several years we joined an alliance of local wineries to fund and construct a new road providing better access for employees, material deliveries, and a small but growing number of tourists. The wine industry has transformed the Tupungato economy. Domaine Bousquet has been integral in improving the local economy, and this is one of our proudest achievements.

Social sustainability

Ninety-five percent of our employees, including harvesters, are from the local town of Tupungato, about six miles from the winery. We’ve trained our local workforce in winemaking processes, operations, logistics, hospitality and administrative work. We have developed training programs for our employees because we support continued education and helped them with micro-loans when the banks were not helping them. We are very committed to helping our community by sponsoring local sport teams and helping local schools. We are a rural company and work in partnership with neighboring wineries and companies to improve infrastructure to supply access to markets, provide good, local jobs, and encourage staff to achieve beyond their expectations. Our business has been a community development from the ground up.

Our products

We take pride and joy in our products. The organically grown grapes we use in our wines offer quality fruit and a vibrant taste that is unparalleled in the world of ordinary wine.

Our premium varietals include:

Pinot Grigio

Chardonnay Torrontés

Rosé

Sauvignon Blanc

Cabernet Sauvignon

Malbec

Chardonnay

Merlot

Pinot Noir

Cabernet Franc

Pinot Gris

White Blends

Red Blends

What we do

We care about the environment and the people in it! We are using our organic, sustainable wine to stimulate Tupungato’s economy. Local people are necessary to keep the winery going, and the winery is necessary to employ them. We’re investing in our people, in our land, and in our products. We know you’ll taste the difference.

What we don’t do

We never use synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. We don’t overuse resources, which means we monitor water supplies and follow water shortage guidelines, programs, and treatment facility rules.

Why you’ll love our wines

There are a few key qualities that make our wines superior:

Our harvests are organically nurtured. The vine roots of our grapes penetrate deep into the soil, where they absorb trace minerals that help give our wines their authentic, regional taste. Our organically grown grapes express the purity, intensity, and varietal character of the local terroir.

Organically grown vines tend to produce lower yields with a greater concentration of flavor (unlike chemically fed grapes), which allow their unique flavors to shine through.

We care about company culture and sustainability efforts. We’re transparent about the winemaking process and treating our employees and land with care.

Our organic crops are grown in harmony with nature and use natural fertilizers such as compost.

Organic, sustainable, high-quality wine

Our commitment to sustainable, organic agriculture and production helps us protect and sustain the land and the environment for future generations.
