Domaine Bousquet, Gaia Red Blend 2018, Tupungato, Mendoza, Argentina

Tasting Note: A voluptuous red blend filled with ripe, black-fruit flavor integration.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, violet blossom, raspberry puree, black plum, graphite and boysenberry.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-grippy, medium-plus tannin.

There is midpalate complexity and balance between the acid and tannin structure.

A delightful red blend.

Bottle Note: Gaia is a blend of organic varietals and vineyards from cool climates, on the foothills of the Andes among Mendoza’s highest attitude vineyards. Grapes are grown organically with no pesticides added. Gaia is a blend of our best grapes, and is harvested manually, barrel fermented and aged in French oak barrels for 10 months. This is an elegant wine which exhibits a dense purple color, with aromas of red and blackberries. It has layers of silky and round tannins with notes of violet, blackberry, plump and spice. It is a full-bodied wine with a long finish. The wine is excellent with red meats, red sauces, cheeses and chocolate. 50% Malbec, 45% Syrah, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
